A handwoven black and yellow Pochampally ikat saree in pure silk from Telangana. Bright yellow ikat patterns stand out against the black, and the whole design is dyed into the yarn before weaving rather than printed. It is a strong colour pairing for festivals, family functions and evening gatherings. No blouse piece is included.

Design details

  • Colours: Black with vibrant yellow, a bold, high-contrast palette.
  • Pattern: Intricate Pochampally ikat patterns across the saree.
  • Fabric: Pure silk, handwoven on a handloom.
  • Handloom: Hand ikat leaves a slightly blurred edge on each motif, and small variations in weave or colour are a natural sign of handwork, not a defect.
  • Blouse: No blouse piece is included, so plan a separate blouse.

Occasions and styling

Wear it to festive evenings, family functions or an office celebration where you want colour without heavy zari. A plain mustard yellow silk blouse and antique gold jhumkas keep the focus on the ikat.

About Pochampally Ikat

Pochampally Ikat is a GI-tagged weave from Bhoodan Pochampally and nearby villages in Telangana. The yarns are resist-dyed in sections before weaving, so the pattern appears as the cloth is woven. The slightly blurred edge on each motif is a mark of hand ikat.

Care

Dry clean only. Store the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth, away from moisture, and refold it every few months. Do not spray perfume directly on the silk. Iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
