Occasions and styling

Berhampuri silk is a perfect fit for festivals, family functions, cultural events, and evening gatherings, and the striking dark tone makes this one stand out on any occasion. Pair it with traditional silver or temple jewelry and the matching blouse to let the vibrant Ganga Yamuna border pop against the black body.

About Berhampuri patta

Berhampuri silk, also called Berhampur patta, is a GI-tagged pure silk from Berhampur in Ganjam district, Odisha. It is known for its phoda kumbha (temple) border and pallu. Berhampur patta was traditionally offered to Lord Jagannath.

Care

Dry clean only. Store the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth, away from moisture. Refold it every few months so the silk and any zari do not crack along the folds. Do not spray perfume directly on silk or zari, and iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
