A handwoven black and pink raw silk saree from Chhattisgarh, with small buttas on the black body, a golden border with a kumbha (temple) design and a vibrant pink pallu. The bright pallu against black makes it lively for festivals, family functions and evening gatherings.

Design details

  • Body: Classic black base with small buttas.
  • Border: Golden border with a kumbha (temple) design.
  • Pallu: Vibrant pink pallu.
  • Fabric: Raw silk, lightweight and comfortable.
  • Handloom: Woven on a hand-operated loom, so small irregularities in the weave and the natural slubs of raw silk are signs of handwork, not defects.
  • Blouse: Comes with an unstitched blouse piece.

Occasions and styling

The black base suits evening events, while the pink pallu keeps it festive. A pink blouse with gold kundan studs and bangles connects the pallu and border.

About Raw Silk

Raw silk is not fully degummed, which leaves the fibre with its natural texture, gentle slubs and a soft matte sheen. The slight crispness helps pleats sit flat and sharp. On a handloom, small irregularities in weave or colour are a natural sign of handwork, not a defect.

Care

Dry clean only. Store the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth, away from moisture. Refold it every few months so the zari does not crack along the folds. Do not spray perfume directly on the silk or zari. Iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
