About Khandua silk
Khandua silk was traditionally woven for Lord Jagannath of Puri and is GI-tagged. It comes from Nuapatna and Maniabandha in Cuttack district, Odisha, where it is woven as ikat. Because it is made on a hand-operated loom, small irregularities in weave or colour are a natural sign of handwork, not a defect.
Care
Dry clean only. Store the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth, away from moisture. Refold it every few months so the silk and any zari do not crack along the folds. Do not spray perfume directly on silk or zari, and iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
