Design details

  • Body: Dark pink upper body with woven butis, moving into a turquoise blue lower half with ikat work.
  • Border: Bold triangle pattern geometric border.
  • Pallu: Turquoise blue pallu with ikat work and horizontal geometric stripes.
  • Fabric: Pure mulberry silk, smooth and lightweight with a soft sheen.
  • Blouse: Comes with an unstitched blouse piece.

Occasions and styling

Choose it for festivals, family functions or office events when you want a bright but structured look. A dark pink blouse with gold studs and a slim chain lets the triangle border stand out.

About Sambalpuri weaving

Bandha, Odisha's tie-and-dye ikat, is at the heart of Sambalpuri weaving from Sambalpur, Bargarh and Sonepur in western Odisha. The yarns are dyed in sections before they go on the loom, which gives each motif a slightly blurred edge, a mark of hand ikat. Sambalpuri Bandha sarees and fabrics are GI-tagged.

Care

Dry clean only. Keep the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth and store it away from moisture. Refold it every few months so any zari does not crack along the folds. Avoid spraying perfume directly on the silk, and iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
