About Nuapatna ikat
Nuapatna is a weaving cluster in Cuttack district, Odisha, known for Khandua silk and for ikat cotton sarees and dress materials with bold tie-dye motifs. In ikat, the yarns are resist-dyed in sections before weaving, so the pattern appears as the cloth is woven.
Care
For the first wash, dry clean the saree or hand wash it separately in cold water with a mild detergent. Handloom dyes may bleed slightly, so do not wash it with other clothes at first. Dry it in shade rather than in direct sun. Iron on medium heat, and use a light starch if you like the cotton crisp.
