A smart silk for festivals, office events and evening gatherings.

Design details

  • Body: Blue pure silk with bold grey and black stripes and patola-style geometric ikat motifs accented in red and yellow.
  • Border: Broad zari borders with shimmering bands.
  • Pallu: Intricately patterned pallu with eye-catching contrast.
  • Blouse: Comes with an unstitched blouse piece in blue with zari borders.

Occasions and styling

The cool grey and blue palette suits office celebrations, festive dinners and family functions. A plain blue blouse and a chunky silver cuff or oxidised neckpiece balance the busy patola pattern.

About Pochampally Ikat

Pochampally Ikat is a GI-tagged weave from Bhoodan Pochampally and nearby villages in Telangana. The yarns are resist-dyed in sections before weaving, so the pattern appears as the cloth is woven, with a slightly blurred edge that is a mark of hand ikat. Patola design here means patola-style motifs woven in Pochampally ikat, as true Patan patola is a Gujarat double ikat.

Care

Dry clean only. Store the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth, away from moisture. Refold it every few months so the zari does not crack along the folds. Do not spray perfume directly on the silk or zari, and iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
