About Sambalpuri ikat
The Sambalpuri saree comes from western Odisha, from weaving areas such as Sambalpur, Bargarh and Sonepur (Subarnapur), and is GI-tagged as the Sambalpuri Bandha saree. In bandha, Odisha's tie-and-dye ikat, sections of yarn are dyed before weaving. Small irregularities are a natural sign of handloom work, not a defect.
Care
Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, or dry clean for the first wash, because handloom colours may bleed slightly. Always dry in shade. Iron on medium heat, with a little starch if you like a crisp drape.
