About Sambalpuri weaving

Sambalpuri sarees are woven in western Odisha, in Sambalpur, Bargarh and Sonepur (Subarnapur). The Sambalpuri Bandha saree is GI-tagged. Bandha is Odisha's tie-and-dye ikat, where yarns are resist-dyed in sections before weaving so the pattern appears as the cloth is woven.

Care

Dry clean only. Keep the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth and store it away from moisture. Refold it every few months so any zari does not crack along the folds. Avoid spraying perfume directly on the silk, and iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
