About Khandua silk
Khandua is an ikat silk from Nuapatna and Maniabandha in Cuttack district, Odisha, and it is GI-tagged. It was traditionally woven for Lord Jagannath of Puri, with motifs such as elephants, lions, kumbha (temple), flowers and lines from the Gita Govinda. The weave is also called Khandua patta. Small irregularities in weave or colour are a natural sign of handwork, not a defect.
Care
Dry clean only. Store the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth, away from moisture. Refold it every few months so the zari and folds do not crack. Do not spray perfume directly on the silk or zari, and iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
