About Khandua
Khandua patta is the GI-tagged ikat silk of Nuapatna and Maniabandha in Cuttack district, Odisha. Traditional Khandua motifs include elephants, lions, kumbha (temple), flowers and lines from the Gita Govinda, and the cloth has long been woven for Lord Jagannath of Puri. Because Khandua is woven on a hand-operated loom, small irregularities in weave or colour are a natural sign of handwork, not a defect.
Care
Dry clean only. Store the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth, away from moisture, and refold it every few months. Do not spray perfume directly on the silk. Iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
