About Uppada silk

Uppada sarees come from Uppada in Kakinada district, Andhra Pradesh, and Uppada Jamdani is GI-tagged. The silk is lightweight and woven with the jamdani technique, where motifs are added by hand during weaving. The weave is known for being light yet rich in zari.

Care

Dry clean only. Store the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth, away from moisture. Refold it every few months so the zari does not crack along the folds. Do not spray perfume directly on the silk or zari, and iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
