About Pochampally Ikat

Pochampally Ikat is a GI-tagged weave from Bhoodan Pochampally and nearby villages in Telangana. The yarns are resist-dyed in sections before weaving, so the pattern appears as the cloth is woven. Geometric diamond and chevron patterns with a slightly blurred edge are a mark of hand ikat.

Care

Dry clean only. Keep the saree wrapped in a soft cotton or muslin cloth and store it away from moisture. Refold it every few months so any zari does not crack along the folds. Avoid spraying perfume directly on the silk, and iron on low heat with a cloth in between.
