Sambalpuri weaving comes from Sambalpur, Bargarh and Sonepur (Subarnapur) in western Odisha, and Sambalpuri Bandha fabrics carry a GI tag. Because it is handloom, small irregularities in weave or colour are a natural sign of handwork, not a defect.
